TEIJA Multi-tasking

TEIJA Multi-tasking

The Teija Guide below will bring you some of our first hand tips on how to wear TEIJA and how to create versatile looks wherever you are heading to. We look at how different items, easy accessories and timeless tops help to build the looks, often using your existing wardrobe, and how to layer style with practical choices.

Coming closer to August, we are looking at choosing pieces that have multiple uses and are transferable from casual to smarter occasion, and discuss the pieces from our exquisite TEIJA range that are our go-to choices to invest in at any season.

What would we recommend as features to pick in the most transferrable items?

The multi-use and timeless are things that we are often looking for in pieces that feel more investable. Those pieces will need to work in the office, in the evening, and perhaps even as travel pieces to use as a spare layer.  Light materials like silk for instance are warm in the winter, cool enough in the summer, and also fold small in a bag or even in a larger clutch bag. Good quality, clean poplin will always help to bridge the smart office with smart evening, as long as the cut is playful and not too serious.

What is our first hand tip for versatile looks for this time of the year?

We love layering a cotton piece open with a lighter layer. You can always take it away if you don't need it, it will protect from the sun, while feeling cool and shaded enough. Sometimes summer dressing can be either body hugging, or just a bit in between. Using some fun volume and crisp silhouette, makes the looks more interesting. We also love to have a large silk or cotton scarf to play with, like our new Rise project scarf. (Only made to order at the moment). It's a beautiful timeless piece, its luxuriously voluminous and works with everything. And what is great about the large luxurious scarves is that they can be turned from a scarf bra top into a wrap skirt - and again into a warmer cover in the evening.

How to put together day and evening looks from simple pieces in the summer?

We recommend to pick a few easy items that feel slick, and mix well with other items. Like our Anine oversized blouse in silk. We would also include some easy culottes, even white wide leg shorts, or other thin layers for the bottoms. So the looks can be played around with a little. The different lengths make the looks change a lot, whether the blouse is tugged in partly. Or hanging loose, just reaching down closer to the culotte ends. Paired with happy sun-kissed legs and sandals, will look stunning. Also a see-through indigo kaftan with some interesting underlayer or swimsuit underneath will feel light and breezy but also chic when it comes to aperitivo time.
